The mission of the Development Services Department is clear:

Improve the community livability in the City of Loveland.

This is accomplished through comprehensive community planning that preserves and enhances the City's quality of life and natural environment, quality plan review and inspections that ensure safety. Recently this department underwent some changes that will make this process more efficient and customer oriented.

Improvements to City Review Processes:

Loveland’s planning and building permit review processes has been restructured recently. The most significant change was moving final site development plan review for most non-residential development from the building permit process to the planning review phase.

In combination with other process adjustments, this new sequence will allow for an overlapping of review processes. Consequently, these changes will enable greater efficiency and predictability. Another important change is the allowance for the electronic submittal and review of plans—resulting in time and cost savings for both the City and the business. Together, the various changes will improve our customer service.
